Batelco rolls out a merchant-focused eCommerce platform, Batelco eSuite

Bahrain-based telecom services company Batelco recently started its eCommerce platform, Batelco eSuite, in an effort to set up stores that are online, according to a TradeArabia report earlier last week.

According to a press release, retailers won’t have a hard time surfing the website/store for the fact that it is user-friendly and provides clear instructionsfor users.

Also, customers can have a good experience while using the platform over the phone because the store is mobile optimized, as in letting customers enjoy shopping whether they’re using a browser on their laptop or their mobiles.

“We at Batelco pay great attention to the SME segment as it is an important pillar in Bahrain’s economy. We proactively deliver solutions that support SME growth, helping them to operate more efficiently,” commented Abdulla Danish, Batelco’s A/General Manager Enterprise.

Earlier this year, we launched ‘Business in a Box,’ a package that offers a full set of technology tools for SMEs, and now to complement our growing portfolio, we’re offering a solution that allows merchants to sell online. “Batelco eSuite” provides a fully customizable solution, with localized payment methods,” he added.

Batelco eSuite lets merchants create online stores by registering, signing up for the platform, and listing their items with photos, prices, and quantities. This process makes the items ready to sell with no paperwork or setup fees.

The platform provides sellers with instructions, and the online store is enhanced for mobile applications. In other words, customers will have a consistent shopping experience on both a web browser on their laptops or their mobile devices.

It is worth mentioning that Batelco is offering a free, full-featured three-month trial of eSuite, after which users will be charged $26 a month for the service.

On his part, Hoodly’s co-founder Sebastian Wussler said, “We are pleased to announce our strategic partnership with Batelco. Hoodly will be fully integrated with Batelco’s digital business services and be distributed exclusively through Batelco in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Together we enable entrepreneurs and SMEs to get their business online easily and in less than five minutes.”

The digital payments and banking technology firm i2c Inc. partnered with the mobile app BEYON Money on a digital wallet in Bahrain that encourages users’ retail, bill, and peer-to-peer payments. It also connects to bank accounts via open banking, offers financial insights, and provides digital remittances.
