Vodafone Oman Unveils Next-Gen Digital Services for Users

Oman’s leading mobile network operator Vodafone Oman launched new digital services for the customers.

As such, the operator opened up a time-limited “launch offer” featuring 77GB of data, 777 minutes, and 777 SMS messages to prospective customers.

It has also launched a flagship Vodafone Hub store at Muscat’s Mall of Oman, providing what is described as a “must-see place to check out the latest technologies and showcasing the best in local tech talent”, according to the operator’s Twitter account.

In addition, the arrival of the new telco has plans that include bringing a next-generation 5G network and cloud services to Oman, according to its spokesperson who added that the plans consist of moving into ecosystems that reach far beyond telecommunications.

While Vodafone received the licence to operate in Oman in 2019, the formal approval for the telco as the third operator was given a year ago.

“Connecting for a better future is our company’s purpose. We set out to be the pioneers of digital innovation and sustainable growth in our community. our main objective is to advance digital progress initially by bringing next-generation 5G network and cloud service and then subsequently going into ecosystems that reach far beyond telecommunication. Vodafone is positioned as Oman’s premier technology, company, digitalizing lifestyles, and society,” said Bader al Zidi, Vodafone Oman CEO.

The reason the government initiated the bid for a new mobile operator is to improve communication services, generate fresh job opportunities for Omanis, and enhance the country’s GDP.

Therefore, Vodafone Oman is putting importance on employing Omanis and a local partnership ecosystem across key sectors. Vodafone will provide services through 3,500 authorized distributors and a comprehensive network.

It is worth mentioning that the entry of a new player could trigger some price competition, potentially benefiting consumers in a market where, according to some reports, internet access is seen as being high compared to other countries in the region.

“With our launch, we are redefining the way people experience communication by eliminating customer service pain points in the industry. Big Data Analytics and extensive market research tell us that customers want radically different, innovative, and transparent products. I am excited to unveil our 77 launch offer, the first-of-its-kind offering with attractive global features to benefit our customers want radically different, innovative, and transparent products,” said Jan Holzberg, Commercial Director of Vodafone in Oman.
